Terms of Use
Last updated: October 6, 2026
These Terms of Use apply to your use of Closet Organization (“the site”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
What the site provides
The site publishes free guides about organizing closets at home. They are general information written for everyday use. The site is not written by professional organizers, closet designers, installers or contractors, and it is not professional advice of any kind. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who can see your home. We work to keep the guides clear and accurate, but we do not promise that every guide is free of errors.
General-information disclaimer
Results vary. How well a method works depends on the closet, on what is kept in it and on the people who use it. The guides describe general approaches and things to check; they cannot take your particular closet or home into account. Sizes, counts and times are starting points, not rules. We do not guarantee any particular result if you follow a guide.
Shelves, rods, hooks and anchors. The site never states how much weight a shelf, a rod, a hook, an anchor or an organizer holds. Whether any of them can carry a load depends on the product, on how it is installed and on the wall, door or rod it is attached to. For anything fixed to a wall or hung from a door or a rod, the product manufacturer’s instructions and specifications decide, and they take precedence over anything on this site. Check any rules that apply to a rented home before drilling, and ask a qualified professional if you are unsure.
Reaching and lifting. Working on a high shelf, moving furniture and lifting full bins or boxes carry a risk of falls and strains. Use a stable step stool or ladder as its manufacturer instructs, and ask for help with anything heavy or awkward.
Clothing care and storage products. Follow the care label on a garment and the label on any cleaning, storage or moisture-control product you use. Those labels take precedence over anything on this site. The site does not promise that a storage method will protect clothing from damage of any kind.
You use the information on the site at your own risk.
Using our content
Unless stated otherwise, the text, illustrations and design of the site belong to Closet Organization. You are welcome to:
- read, print and use the guides for personal, classroom, library or other non-commercial purposes;
- share a link to any page;
- quote short passages with a clear credit and a link back to the original page.
Please do not republish whole guides or illustrations, sell them, or present them as your own work without written permission.
Common ways of folding, hanging and storing clothes are not anyone’s property. Our rights relate to our own written guides and illustrations, not to the general ideas behind them.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site. This includes attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with how the site works, sending spam or unlawful content through the contact form, or copying the site in bulk by automated means beyond what is needed for normal search engine indexing.
External links
Some guides link to third-party pages, such as the reference pages a statement is based on. Those links are provided for reference and are not endorsements. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Closet Organization is not liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from your use of the site or from following its guides, including damage to clothing or other belongings, damage to property, and injury to a person. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
